RE: =][= scale tech Priest
imo it's too pale; I know it's just wip photo but I'd apply more shading - simple watered-down wash would make a miracle
ok im to dumb which hand it is free hend ??
but ferst it is Dusty look made by actidend or you tray to get it ??
ok - bakpack - i will tray- if it was my mini - in dark grean - like all military suplayers look in real - with yelow marks
face - or radher gas mask - how about glowing efect from binoculars - grean light or blue (or mix of them - turkus ) or iven orange red ???
- marks on the cloak - dont know ..... im usualy doing such things at the end of painting or when i knew how the mini will be loking at the end - if yours mini have to be in the "dusty them" this golden marks dont fits this (unles you will glaze it too look dusty )
as about metal parts i will give a tray of tin bitz + Scurf Green (or enything other with similar colors) - then shadet with Dwarf somthing .... dont remember the name of this metalic - it will giva a old end wetherd look but not rusty end hightlight with burnished gold or mitril silwer to achive a "sun bliks '
i hope thats help (but dont took it to seriuslu it is only my opinion end mini is yours end you ar the peinter
)

@ Maru - What I meant by free hand, was the symbols I painted on the robe in gold, were done on the model with out the sybols actually being on the model.
Thank you for your feed abck though from both of you. I will take these things into account.
Thanks much
It seems it was written by Dragyn...

On the freehand: Try with very thin layers, and build it up. Maybe first start with a brown, and when you have the right shape, go over it with gold.
And keep the red colour you used near to correct mistakes
That's how I do it most of the time after practising the freehands on a piece of paper.
For the robes I would use a couple more highlights. It looks a bit flat on the moment.

Well after the fiasco, the other night when I dropped the mini onto the paint mixing plate I was working over and covered it in blue paint, I stripped it and started repainting it. I will try and post some pics of the new paint job tonight. From 18 inches away it looks well highlighted, but up close it looks kinda of yuck.
Well Will let you people decide how it looks in genral after tonight. I think I am going to go with someone's suggestion of making the robe collar, sleeve cuffs an old gold metallic colour. Not sure how I am going to highlight it though.
Then I will try again with the freehand alchemy symbols with the suggestions listed here.
Thanks much.
