greetings!
I'd like to present You my champion of nurgle;
it is one of few nurglish minis in my painter's career but it's the first one I really like it's probably not because the painting itself but I like the model very much; besides I had great fun while painting this... ok, ok - enough this wimp-like rubbish
I am pretty satisfied with the armour colour but the sword is not something I wanted to achieve; it doesn't look like warpstone or magic(K)al blade, but rather like plastic toy... maybe You could advise me how to turn it in more realistic looking nmm? I'd be very grateful for constructive comments etc...
hi DM
great paint job, i like the sword, one way of making it look magical is to paint streaks on the blade, rather like lightening flashes. dont listen to me anyhow, i have only been painting for 8 months.
excellent work
steve
Hey Demi, sweet looking champ!! The sword looks OK to me. It must be hard to achieve a good warpstone/magical effect with that skeleton on the sword
I like most the colour of the armour. It looks really dirty.
Nice job Demi!
thank You all for advices;
but I still can't paint nmm (or something similiar looking) properly; so far all my tries make weapons looking plastic-like or telling straight: looking like a sh*t...
the painting is very nice! I sense a little Mahon style there I especially like the Green armor parts and the weathering on them. I also like the metallics, NMM isnt always the best choice
I don't really like the old sculpts, especially the skeleton on the sword is a whacky idea, but you did a good job!

hi
thank you for the link to the commenting, i understand we all have a point of view to get across, but i am somewhat shy about voicing my opinions, especially when giving advice to excellent painters.
i once put a model on a forum for advice, but it just got slammed, and upset me somewhat, so i am weary about giving mine.
Anyway thank you, and i will give constructive crititism in future .
steve

That sucks! But don't be disencouraged by what they said. You can learn a lot when posting a pic of your mini's. Here you get good tips and critique with a lot of explanation and your mini won't get slammed.
Just give your opinion on mini's and if you're working on something and need advice or want it to show off, just post it. The people here wil be happy to give you some good advice
*sorry for the (kind of) Hijack of your topic Demi, I'm sure the next guy/girl will say something about your mini again *
not a problem
but I also have the same feeling as stevannie wrote: I don't want to post my pics because I am not satisfied of them... (well, of course except nurgle champion which is georgous as all we can see :D);
fortunately the atmosphere on CoC forum is so great that there's no risk to get upset and so on after publishing ANY photos - the best proof is I am not upset after posting my pics in "who am I talking to" topic... ;)
The problem is that many people who batter pics either can't paint at all and are frustrated about it or are at a certain level and the local painting heroes (there'S a saying in austria, that roughly translates like this: "The one-eyed is king among the blind") and the more they get told how special they are the more they belive that they are the best in the world and everyone else is shit. so they have to defend their title by making everyone elses work "tiny".
then of course there's the brilliant but arrogant painter that KNOWS he's better than everyone else and just looks down at everyone...
in any case...don'T take anyone of them seriously or let it get to you. You probably best see your progress and if you are happy with it thats what counts. Someone else will probably not see that you tried this and that as a new technique or to get more experience.
