Vampiress - WIP

Post by KingUlrikFlamebeard »

This is my latest piece of work, been working on it over the weekend but would like some comments and see if anyone can pick me up on anything. Oh and a bit of help. Namely, the staff - suggestions for the actual staff? The skull will be well, a skull. Also the cat at her feet. I did think maybe a light colour, a creamy type or a black one with white face and belly but not sure. Any suggestions? What about her base? Not sure on the sand but figured it needed something over the milliput.

If you don't get the theme, she's raising a skeleton or two - hence the arm coming from the grave. ;) Here, pictures.

I vote for cat with stripes and I think that it should be in pale colors.
Nice blending on her skirt :D

You chose really bad sculpt... I've never liked lahmias models:
as far as I remember these vampires were supposed to be seductive etc but I'm sure I wouldn't get seduced buy her - unless I was VERY drunk
as for the painting: You could add more highlights on her dress :)
I'd also highlight her skintone even more to make deadly-pale feeling - but that's just a personal taste :)

Yes, Demi is right. The skirt would benefit from more highlighting as it looks a bit flat the way it's painted now, even though blending is very smooth.

The choice of the mini is not the most fortunate but not the worst too. I think you chose this mini because of the conjuring pose. But she's not seductive at all...

I think that the cat should be striped - just as Ana suggested. Maybe grey/black or white/beige? Don't really know... Don't you want to try OSL effect from the staff?

Kropka!:D

I'd suggest another colour for her pants, maybe black...

Maybe the staff painted as green marble?

Actually, I brought the mini just because - it wasn't my intention to have her like this but I wanted to do something different with her. I won't say why just yet but.. you'll see. ;) The idea just sort of came to me and she did seem to fit quite well.

You're correct about the dress, needs more highlights; it was washed with purple ink to give it shading [quite effective I think] and so I forgot to highlight again. The skin however I like, not as pale as some prefer it but personally I like it alot. It's purple toned but a bit too pale to be human, might do well with another highlight I suppose though.

Not sure on the whole light sourcing, I don't know if I could pull it off convincingly and cocking it up would result in starting over. It needs to be done soonish, before Christmas anyway. I'll think about it. What about the actual staff part? Any suggestions?

Sorry, Skrit you did. Hm, it's an option but you think it be too green overall? Would the staff blend into the dress?

You might be right there, but I guess marble in white/greyish tones or something with a more magical feel attached to it: purple would work.
