Golden Demon Winners Day!, Fotobericht aus Nottingham...

Post by -MattCexwish- »

Hi Di Ho!

(I create this topic instead of using the GD Uk 2006 one in oder that people get aware about this, to make things more seperated and because people can find the topic more easily...)...

10 Days (or more...^_^...) passed since Ben and Me are back from the GW invitation... Here you have a report on the things we have seen there...^_^...

That´s me..:P...

After a Short flight we arrived at the East Midlands Airport... From there we had a short bus drive to Nottingham Centre... We arrived at our Hostel (10 People Dorm...) very late at night...

The next morning was a very cold day, but at least a bit sunny...^_^...

We made our way through Nottingham... the invitation was at 10 o clock... you can see Ben (Komets...) on the left hand side

We catched our taxi from the Train Station...

... So finally we stood in front of the GW HQ... Willow Road...

Since GW is known for their subtile ways their HQ integrates itself in the canon of other buldings without a problem...;)... You can clearly see that it´s not hard to spot it...:D...

Step in, Step on... Double fun on Entering...

The Receptionist at GW... A very cool dude, he talked very fast and was a bit attracted by the Chick that has been waiting )outside the pic...) in order to get an interwiev... "She´s nice, I like..."...^_^...

Generally spoken Games Workshop did a great work by putting some "senseful" Gadgets in their HQ... Mind the GW Vending Machine (Coffee and stuff...) plus the GW Declaration Thingy...

All in all there had been about 13 people...

ImageClick to see full-sized image

They gave us some nice Name Tags... ^_^... It´s hard to have one´s eyes open while looking down, though...;)...

Ben war von seinem ebenfalls mehr als begeistert...

After a short introduction they led us to a conference Room... that´s the sign on the door... seems important...

ImageClick to see full-sized image

There we got this very nice presentation... every share holder would be peeing himself because of the nice GW Story, WD Story and general "Myths" things... Wow...:)... Interesting, but the dude, who held the presentation, was very professional and funny...

After this we all put our Demon Winning Entries on a table... they carried them away and took some pictures... Ben and me brought some more work with us, maybe GW can use them somehow...

Right after this they showed us the Packing Factory...

If you ever get a wrong order thay mess it up right here...

Lax Working Morale... Run Low on Toilet Paper...?... Well, here´s the Staff WD...:)... Hangs besides the Staff Toilets...

After this we went to Bugmanns Bar...

The Warhammer... was heavy Stuff...

An Orc Skull...

Some Bugmann Gadgets...

The big Platscreen was a kinda funny image with 50 Cent in Bugmanns bar showing his bling...:D... very authentic...

We got hungry after seeing all this...

I didn´t knew the word "Luncheon"... Well, guess this is one...;)...

--- Now theres a passage we are not ment to talk about... it was the Studio part, in which we got another presentation and after this they carried in some of the new Miniatures (they will be released in about 24 Months...:)...) ... Then some Eavy Metal Painters and Studio Chumps came in, they closed the doors for a hour...:)... That was great to see all the new Minis, the best part, I guess... ---

The Production Facility... here you see Chaos Space Marines Backpacks popping out of the machine... Bits, Anyone...?...^_^...

ImageClick to see full-sized image

On the right Somebody whiped the floor in order to have all the backpacks removed which fell down on the floor... they got recycled again... The tone of the Mini Plastic is called "Cool Grey 7"...:P... Yummy...

At the very end of the tour we visited the Warhammer Miniature Museum... One can see very much of the Eavy Metal Miniatures here... Interesting, I liked it... Additionally there was a Wooden Shield with all the Slayer Swoer Winners (written in golden Letters...) on it... Albert Moreto Font already was on it...:)...

The Peter Jackson Hobbit... was on the net already...

ImageClick to see full-sized image

This one wasn´t... Gandalfs Wagon, aka "Rick Priestley ist Buggin the Crap out of us, so we made this to make him shut up" Wagon...

ImageClick to see full-sized image

"I am using GW stuff all the time" my ass...:)...

ImageClick to see full-sized image

Some mini... I loved the Freehands, so small, so ideal... very nice...

So... that´s quite it... At the end we got a very cool gift set... nice things inside...

ImageClick to see full-sized image

One last thing on GW Stores... We have seen this nice Sign... "Improve your painting skill with just 20 Minutes of your time... We guarantee you will improve..."... Hmmm, interesting...

Ben and me entered the store and we got these two new WD Miniatures, a Goblin and a Dwarf... They gave us the 6 basic colors (NO Bestial or Scorched Brown, NO Bleached Bone... Uh oh... No blue...)... More handicaps stoke us after experiencing the really bad light and the small screeching Children... Uh oh...

Here you see the result... We had about 3 hours time... the better one naturally came from Ben...:)... Happy guessing...

ImageClick to see full-sized image

P.S.: Oh, we learned a lot after this painting... You can talk about Gore, Mayhem, Destruction, Chopped off Limbs, Heads and Noses, Skulls and bad breath, but if you say "FUCK" they want to ban you from the Store... Well, I guess we are forced to work home again, I guess...:)...

Comment on that if you like...
