I have been in the hobby for 13 years (lucky number this year:) I have got a long history of playing WH40K and Necromunda with my brother and cousin (that's dudek111, some of you, industrial spies, already know him:) But as years went by I stayed mostly with modelling and painting.
I kind of never realised if I am good at painting or not, until last year I decided to take part in UK Golden Demon 2005 in Birmingham. Funny thing, when I was choosing what to take with me, I realised that after 13 years of painting I do not have a mini finished to a very high standard that I could show at the contest. I think that it is because of trying to paint armies and not individual pieces. So I sat down and painted the new Tyranid Lictor and LOTR Boromir...
To my surprise my efforts were awarded
Boromir won nothing, I did not even get the green sticker that means the judges spotted your mini. But with the Lictor ... I got to the very final and my Lictor was among 14 minis from which the judges chose gold, silver and bronze. I got a badge - UK GD 2005 Finalist and got home with a decision to paint more and better.So here I am, one of the many Wulfen you might encounter on the web, you know, we have just emerged from the Eye of Terror after many years of travelling through the Warp
