Mordred, I believe you have quoted thr wrong postMordred wrote:what do you mean? the horse barding and the knight's armour ?mahon wrote:Metal - especially on the upper photo - looks fantastic! I also love the chipped paint on the armour covering the horse's neck
Yes, I do mean barding on the horse and knight's armour. Looking at each of them separately, both pieces are really nice (especially the rider).
Looking at your model as it is now, it lacks coherency. For me, it looks, like the rider is taken from another mini.
Perhaps it will change when you finish the remaining parts.

sorry, wrong quote indeed !
thanks alot for the remark, I intend to paint an entire unit of these so they have to look coherent. I will see if I can add some colour variations to the knight's armour to make it fit with the horse barding.
I chose a different style for the rider because I was afraid the piece would look too monochrome if I didn't, and would become boring.
I think once the entire thing is finished it will fit together, mainly because the shield will have a patch of cloth that has the same colour as the barding, and will tie things together abit more.

Nice piece Mordred, I like alot. I do however see a few things that stick out to me, the horse for one. Looks too healthy for my liking, when I think Nurgle I think of the GW Nurgle lord on horse back or of really dieased creatures.
It maybe me but from the front it looks like the tentacle is in fact coming from behind the knights back and covering is arm (the side view shows otherwise of course) but it maybe just me. Oh, that I probably would have made to look more sickly and vile looking. Again just my image of Nurgle.
All this being said, I like it. The knights armour is great looking as is the horses, I especially like the little spots of weeping on the barding.
One last thing, the nurgling looks sort of like a last minute addition - out of place. Well to me anyway. But is it not going to get kicked in the head by that horse? Think of the mess...
