Since Phoenix Edition belongs to Cyanide, it worth knowing, that they are releasing game based on Confrontation: Aarklash: Legacy and on line Dogs of War Online.
More infos here:

Aarklash: Legacy and Dogs of War Online, two new video games based on the Confrontation universe, will be released in 2013.

Originally created by Rackham, Confrontation is a medieval-fantasy world where several alliances of peoples clash at the dawn of Rag’Narok. Acquired by Cyanide in 2010, this license serves as the basis for both games, which are being developed in parallel.

Aarklash: Legacy is a tactical adventure game in which the player controls the destiny of a group of fighters. The most important facet of the game is combat strategy which is based on an active pause system. However, a heavy accent will also be placed on the storyline and the evolution of its heroes.

With Dogs of War Online, Cyanide offers a management and strategy orientated free-to-play game. Players will be able to control their own mercenary companies, which they build themselves, and will compete in turn-based tactical battles inside online arenas.

Aarklash: Legacy and Dogs of War Online are currently planned for release on the Windows PC in the second quarter of 2013.

I have been lurking for some time about any info on the current status and I've found this news :
Hi guys,

I have a little reliable news regarding C:P. Firstly the project is not dead, it's just taking longer as some of the wheels that need to be set in motion are taking them longer than they would like. I can't really comment any more regarding this, but things are looking positive. Secondly CMON have decided against using the beta tested rules many of you would have tested or heard about. I guess we will have to wait and see where they decide to go with it rules wise but I have been assured they will be giving the community a game they want. They want to grow the universe, and can see it being a major line of theirs. It is definitely not going to sit in the shadow of Wrath of Kings.

Unfortunately I can't say much more.

Cheers,

Staks.
Hey guys,

It's been a while since I've posted, but I wanted to drop in and help Staks out here (he's been very vigilant in trying to dig up as much info as possible believe me). Right now Confrontation is being held up due to contract and legal issues, I'd love to give you guys details but sadly I just can't, and until we get things into a position were we can relaunch the game without legal quandary we are kind of in a 'hands tied' position.

In regards to what will happen with the rules, all I can say is this; I will be part of the leadership of the dev team. I have a list of vets I will be reaching out to when the time comes and if I have not spoken to you about it before, please feel free to email me directly and let me know your past/previous experience with Confrontation and what you can contribute. I can't promise anything to anyone but know that I do take this project very seriously and Confrontation holds a very near and dear place in my heart. You can reach me direct at derek AT cmon DOT com.

Be well DP and stop in a say hi if you hit any cons I'm at this year!
