I can only see the different tones of gray.

I do not like the mini but it is a great paint job.
what colors/pigments are used one the base ? it looks great

Didn't use any pigments on the base ;) Colors for the sand were the following (from dark to light):

Reaper Master Series Leather Brown #09030
Reaper Master Series Palomino Gold #09074
PrivateerPress P3 Sulfuric Yellow
Reaper Master Series Golden Blonde #09033

Awesome paintjob, I really like how the armor, the cloth piece, the cape and the sand all melt together and pops out

I like it very much too :) Very bright and vivid colors! Super effect.
I would like to paint this way, but my paintjobs seem to be much more dull and muddy
