At 19 O'clock tonight, I had to say goodbye to my dog Chloë. The sweetest pet I ever had and a good friend for 10 years long. She had a tumor for the third time, and we decided that she had suffered long enough. Her life was good, despite the pains she has gone through. Well, she's free and without pain now.
I'm having a really hard time with it. It's hard to say goodbye to a pet who was a joy in your life for 10 years long, and I don't think I completly realize yet that she won't greet me tomorrow morning, or that she won't come seeking for attention anymore...

She went in peace, and will be loved forever.

I just needed this to get of my chest.

it's really bad news... I'm sorry about Your loss;
I know wery well what does it mean to loose beloved dog: mine was over 13 years old when died because of malignant tumor

one of the hardest things a person can do is make the decision to put a beloved pet to rest, even though this might be the best option. I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

Ah, sorry to hear Tomas. Especially when I was chatting with you and I had to go and eat. You told me you would go to the vet and I said that we'd talk about it later. I'm feeling a bit like I've let you down now, sorry man if only I'd knew...

I know how it is to lose one of your best friends! My dog was thirteen when the vet made a critical fault and my dog died in much pain because of it! In the end the diagnosis was that he only had an ingrown toe hair. What happened was that the vet during the operation had lifted him onto his back, something you should never do while a dog is unconscious. His stomach turned and he was slowly poisoned by his own gas. Not a nice way to go....

Another vet said that he was in such a good health he could have easily lived for another 4 to 5 years...

I'm really sorry to hear that, ToMaZ. I had to go through the same with my 15-year old german shepard when I was younger. Since then, I never had an other dog again...

thanx everyone. I didn't think I would have such a hard time with it. I'm feeling better now, but I'm still expecting the dog to be around at the weirdest moments, when I finished eating and I have some leftovers, or when I want to take a walk...
It takes a while getting used to the fact that she isn't around anymore, while she was for almost the half of my life.
Well, al that is left now are the good memories

I had to let her put to sleep, she was in pain and there was no chance of recovery. She was a great dog, but I doubt I will get another one soon.

Skrit, don't worry about the msn talk. I didn't tell you on purpose, because at that moment I didn't really wanted to think or talk about it.

ToMaZ you have my sympathy. I've had to make that decision before, and it is never, ever easy even if you know its the best thing to do. Hang in there.

Dear friend,

You have my sympathy too. I guess if you are 22 and the dog was around you when u are 11, she was your childhood playmate and it really gave you many memories.....Well, getting another one or not is not the first priority now, I kindly suggest you to talk out and share your sadness to your girlfriend, family and close friends, in order to sort out the emotional impact.
