Yeah I thought of that... but people don't but 'ready made' bases to spend time on preparing them (putting sand or cutting elemnts of).

I don't see a problem here. if a customer wants a fantasy base, he'll get another one. you can't make all products universal and suitable for all purposes. it's like complaining that you can't use new space marines for your elf army

Bases are good, but some bits from bases (as Scibor´s Basing Kits) for modelling some parts of your own terrain should be more useable.
