if anyone was disappointed with a received gift (or participated only in hope of getting a mini from folks like Ana or Ctan), then I'd call him/her an asshole.

Was thinking about it again while doing dishes today morning and definitely cannot agree with underlined part:
sure we want the ME to be nice and friendly event but I don't think it's anyone's business why a painter decides to participate. As long as she/he fits all requirements and paints model before the deadline it's all that should matter

It is a friendly event indeed. It’s about fun, surprises, gifts and bringing us all closer. I have a heap of e-mails proving that people treat like this. I don’t have not one message saying “Oh, what will I get?“, “I still didn’t get mine, and it’s after the deadline!”. Quite the opposite, I have e-mails from folks sharing their concerns and worries: “will he like my mini?”, “I really tried to find a mini she’d like to get”. That’s cool, fun, nice and inspiring.
If someone’s ONLY motivation is hope to get a free mini from a top-shelf painter (yay, few hundred bucks saved), then yes , I would call that person an asshole. Of course, I’m not able to check anyone’s motivation and thoughts, so it’s just a theoretical statement.

But what you wrote reminded me the discussion about MotM voting system we had a while back and since some thoughts came to my mind while playing home - decided to release them, that's all
Still don't think calling anyone asshole for what she'he thinks is just wrong, it's deeds what matters and what should be judged. My 2 €-cents.
