Cracked on a fair bit this afternoon. Figured out effect I wanted for the armour; black base coat, then silver, then a dry brush of coppery gold. I feel the barbarian lends itself to something more than plain iron armour etc...the warmth of the copper/bronze adds some much needed colour.
Also tweaked the woad and tidied up a lot the lines there as well as adding shading to various sections of it.
Started on the head as well.....
All in all things carry on apace!!

Head completed and glued into place.
Went for grey hair and beard; hair base coated with a light blue/grey then washed with dark grey, dry brushed with an off white then re washed to create shadow layers etc.
Horns are blended from light tan colour to brown then washed with dark brown and dry brushed with ivory.
Also started work on loincloth which will be dark red for a splash of colour.

You have to make time for what you enjoy!
It was painting or housework.....wasn't a tough choice really.

Bit more work for new year!
Finalised head and shoulder pad and strapping. Added some brighter white highlighting to end of horns.
For legs started work on the fur and finalised loincloth with some dirt and extra shading.fur has multiple layers of washes and dry brushing as well as final washes of shading to add depth.
The figures really starting to come together.
