WWII Waist Gunner

Post by Tommie Soule »

I would like to show you my latest commission. This is also a gift for some body so it's kind of special as well. This is the piece 'finished' tho i may add some changes before taking more shots for you all. Your advice is most welcome.

Nice piece, i think some of the darker browns seem a little flat almost rushed, like on the tubing to his mask, I think a few more highlights on the sleeves would have given it that little more impact. I love the metal clip and beige strap across his chest, his face is really good, the stubble and the colours work very well. Nice job dude, how long did this one take you?

Everything is great apart from the face. This comic style of painting doesn't suite historical models well. The technique is great, but I think that just the decissions was bad. I think a more natural look would make it look better.
