The blade is a bit of a cock up, at Arctica says i'm going to wait until he comes to visit to show me his technique.

As for painting them one at a time, im still getting the colours down so im trying to focus on one model, however once i start doing groups of models (Mage hunter strike force, stormfall archers) I will start doing them probably two at a time if not more!

Here is my next model, the first warcaster I have done, very happy with this one spent a lot of time on making the reds and blues stand out, let me know what you think!

The glue on the grass wasn't dry when I took this and thats why it looks a little milky at the bottom.

Nice warcaster. I like his face expression.
About gems, I think you should add a white dot at the top. Check this tut:

simple, but clean paintjob. you could now think about darklining and highlighting edges ti improve the look. of course, it all depends on how much time you want to spend on a gaming mini.

I really like this one and i can see where you've added the highlights etc. I would be tempted to push the contrast and highlights up a few notches further like you've done above the wrist grasping his weapon. I really like the browns you've done but again a tad more highlights on the upper edge would make it pop. Still you need to post up group shots ! :D

Thanks for the link, I am doing a Hydra Myrmidon next so will try that technique on that! I am trying to avoid going back over older models and just improve on each one as I go or I will get stuck on a single model and im trying to get my blending a lot smoother as well, but as you can see from those pics i got a little way to go.

Any tips on how to make it smoother or is it just to use lots of layers and make sure the paint is thin?

To make paint thinner use more water (ev. plus glaze medium) and make lots of layers to smoothen the transitions. Takes time, but I think more important is to learn the technique - how to dilute the paint, how to put it on the surface, etc. This is what gives me most problems :D
good luck!

Thanks for the feedback! I will try using a lot more layers then :)

Sorry for the lack of posting real life getting in the way plus these Myrmadon models are huge! it took me 4 hours to paint its gauntlets! Hopefully have a new update by the end of the week.

Right, sorry its been so long but I have finally got my first heavy warjack done! Unfortunately my painting light appears to destroy some of the contrast from the reds, until I can get some better lamps it will have to do. I also have a group pic of all finished models so far, comments and crits welcome!!

they look good together. you could try to work more on black parts of the jack, if you have some time for it. they look flat for now.
