Kuchulainn's Workbench

Post by Kuchulainn »

I have very limited hobby time, so my projects usually take forever to progress, so be patient :)

Let me start my workbench topic by a long-time awaited project of mine: Kangor, the Land Raider. It starts with Lord of the Ring War Mummâkh of Harad, a Warhammer 40000 Land Raider, and a Warhammer 40000 Terminus Ultra upgrade kit from Games Workshop:

I have alreadt built a plexiglass base that fits the Land Raider hull size (so it is legit to be played) and that fits my army's theme (runes all around)

I have assembled the body and the head of the beast (but the tusks, to be sure of the pose later on).

I have teared apart the Land Raider's hull to identify which parts will armor the animal.

And ... that's how far I got, stay tuned for more :)

I'll be interested how this will turn out but for me it still doesn't feel space wolf-y just seems much more like a chaos perversion, but i think if you replace limbs or sections of the elephant with mechanical parts to seem more like a robotic walker with legs and make it a big shaggy more like a mammoth it'll fall much more into the space wolf feel of things.

I am sure i have seen something like this using a mammoth and some 'long fangs' to represent a predator - like it has been mentioned with the stories around space wolves a mammoth may be considered the most obvious choice, but with some mechanical parts and/or a paint scheme it will work nicely - especially using the top and sides you have shown.

I don't really see where this is going (can't get the idea of the concept) so I'll just wait for it to be finished to see it.

This is a good start, obviously it's a WIP but it definitely needs more mechanical parts like extra wiring etc (guitar string, different grades would help) and raid some more mechanical bits, but this is cool progress i like where it's headed ^^
