Removing paint from Privater Press 'plastic'

Post by cat »

Hello people! so, yes, I screwed a mini up, and it's time to start over.
But these warmachine plastic kits are made out of a kind of plastic I've never seen before... it feels a lot like resin.

My favorite mini paint remover has always been brake fluid, but it did mess up a resin part some time ago. And, unfortunately the warmachine plastic minis came with no extra material to do a test dive with. And I don't feel to watch my minis turn to a permanent jelly-like state ;p

So, has anybody successfully removed paint (acrylic) from plastic privateer press minis? I'd love to hear how you did it!
Thank you! :)

I've never heard of any good method for cleaning resin. All the popular chemicals used for metal and plastic will ruin resin if held in for too long. Mind You I've been out of the hobby for almost 2 years so things might have changed ;)

Hello everyone! I've been very busy, but I finally got the paint out of the minis, at leat, most of it.
Simple Green didn't work... but the product mentioned in the link Hellspawn posted, DETTOL, worked wonders.
So, yeah, dettol's the way to go, thanks for all your help
