Another fine release from Scibor - third of Spartan Sci-Fi Warriors and all three of them as Spartan set:

Scibor is pushing himself and his own company to a gw-replacement position. I'm not discussing financial issues, if he does this, it is most probably justified. As a viewer/hobbyists (not really his client to be honest) I don't really like this approach. Nevertheless, whatever he does, I'll support him as every other Polish company :)

It's fine addition to current range of GW models, but they are also fine standalone models too. I hope Scibor is clever enough and carefull about copy rights. Don't want to see him bleeding in the court...

I'm pretty sure he knows very well how to stay in compliance with the law :)
as for sculpts - any mini in the world can be used as a standalone piece, even GW one :)

I believe Scibor must have found a safe way to step out of GW's way because he's still in the business ^^ and produces more and more sci-fi celtic knights, sci-fi spartans, sci-fi romans, etc.

But if you ask me I prefer his own ideas and sculpts much more than those GW-fillers or GW-replacements. Those uglyns were cool, Prussian ogres were cool, moscals were cool, dwarves on bears were cool, bases tend to be very good - I really don't care much for those not-space-marines.

I believe it so, CMON won't sell his products if it was not safe.

Love & miss those older original sculpts (Ogryns are great, that small dwarves in napoleonic or WW I & II style were fantastic, I also loved his 54 mm releases...). But his "no,no,no-I'm-no-GW-space-marines" are pretty fresh and unusual, comparing to GW's standards...

I'm afraid that in the total image it's not the minis that are great, but the minis that sell great when it comes to pay the bills. And most likely those not-so-very-marines should are selling much better.
Do not underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers...
