My take is that the FineCast range is all hit or miss. There are some good ones, some bad ones, some excellent ones and some terrible ones...
And at this price tag, from company with more than 20 years of experience, I expect better than that. When I am to pay so much money for a small miniature, I want a good cast.
Sure, they will sned me a replacement, but it's additional problem. OK for a cheap product, you have to take it into account. For a 'deluxe' version of miniature, I want more.

Re: Games Workshop news
Somehow if you go to gw store you will find that not all of the metal minis are gone to fine cast resin, many still remain with metal, dont know if this will stay until they sell all production or not.NAVARRO wrote:Pandadosmares wrote:I bought all the metals i wanted ( abunch of tallarns ) but i guess this is just a bad start i dont think that all the minis were bad casted, but for the first batch there are too many with problems with the new casting.
Did anyone got a reply from GW concerning the swap?, i never had problems swaping stuff with them wend there were damage in the original
Well getting all the metals I wanted would mean I had to Invest In tons of nids ( many are metals) and also gobbos it would be a big investment and to be honest I had my attention on better stuff outhere... Today its even a bigger investment and with less value, GW gotta be kidding me, no way I will play that kind of money for that kind of product... and Im the kind of guy that can splash 100 euros on one resin miniature if the quality and design is there.
has for the resin there are some really good cast out there, i will wait a few months before i buy the new finecast minis or till the next month with the launch of storm magic if with it the dragon mini is launched.
Until now and compared to FW resin i cant complain since i never had a bad cast (cross my fingers)

You know, unless something radical happens Its going to be hard to finish a GW army without finecasts... I will probably convert stuff, hunt metals on ebay or buy alternative characters from others... If all fails i will end up sculpting those characters... Thats the thing It should be easier for me to get GW stuff not the other way around.
Also let me just say the price hike was not only on finecasts, other stuff also raised prices from codex to plastics, so for me personally more than it ever was, I'm finding hard to spend huge amounts of money on buying the same models over and over again just to fill a HQ or a regiment.
And the decision always goes between do I buy another box to add 20 more minis to my 3rd 50 model regiment or do I buy a metal box set from other nongw game and get new models, new styles and about 1/3 (in case of infinity about 2/3 )of my full army?
Its not me not wanting to buy some GW stuff its GW making it harder and harder for me to close my eyes to the alternatives... today GW is becoming the alternative in my collections and I'm more and more getting other stuff.

Nope you dont want more... for a deluxe version you just want... a deluxe versionmahon wrote: For a 'deluxe' version of miniature, I want more.
Panda- the word on the street is metals are going to be discontinued in waves and all replaced with the new finecast line, so its a question of when it will happen. Since I refuse to panic buy, I have nightmares with rackham past and got so fed up that I sold about 50% of my rackham metals on a grudge basis.. that I dont feel that I need into my hobby
So yeah I will, in my time, try to get what I need if its impossible their loss.

We can only pray they fix some of the big problems, has for now my opinion is:
- very expensive
- not a great improvement, even if its easier to convert
- did i mention its expensive

Re: Games Workshop news
No improvement I can think off so far... Whats the importance of being easier to convert if they cant even provide a basic miniature without flaws that compromise the model and are only fixable by Greenstsuff pros... In Portugal summer those things dont even stand a chance.Pandadosmares wrote:We can only pray they fix some of the big problems, has for now my opinion is:
