I think this move is just about any competitor manufacturer wet dream... Personally Im pissed since theres some nice metals on GW that will just get butchered by finecast or discontinued... Yeah only the plastics at GW are a viable choice.

I bought all the metals i wanted ( abunch of tallarns ) but i guess this is just a bad start i dont think that all the minis were bad casted, but for the first batch there are too many with problems with the new casting.

Did anyone got a reply from GW concerning the swap?, i never had problems swaping stuff with them wend there were damage in the original

Fine cast is a big joke. Such a big miniature company should be better at quality control. The fact that they even put these miscasts out for sale shows of little respect to their customers. "The fanboys will surely buy it, everything we touch is golden..." It's a big f**k up!

I really hate their way of doing business.

To be devils advocate here, admittedly they have some really quite bad casting at this point in time, but in many cases there are perfectly fine ones too. Obviously you'd want to reduce the amount of poor quality ones going out and that in my opinion is where they're lacking with quality control. However, you don't hear about the ones as much as those which are good quality and that do come out in a good condition.

Personally I do think they rushed it and that they are in dire need to checking and weening out the kinks but I will probably buy some later when they have gotten a slightly better track record.

You're right arctica, they did have perfectly good metal casts, where there was no need of removing them from their catalogue. Instead they made some big noise about how perfect their new resin figs were going to be (to cover up the price increase ^^) and then they release a big bag of rubbish?! It stinks.
I'm sure that there are good ones between them, but when I checked the blisters at my local store today, I only spotted a few that looked acceptable I'm afraid.

I'm not a GW fan. Not at all. And so I don't know if I'm completely objective here. But I just think they should treat their customers better. They should take a look at a couple of other big sellers when it comes to marketing and human relations and stop treating folks like they're 10-year olds.

I guess I really do just expect too much ;)

Having talked with people who know the way GW does casting, there isn't any. GW wants their employees to make quotas, so they don't care if the models they put out aren't perfect, or have large amounts of flash. This is why miscasts and the like get through. It wasn't as bad with metal, because it's a less finicky material, but once you introduce resin, which the casters are unfamiliar with and which literally attacks the molds, and still expect them to make quotas, cast quality goes down dramatically.

Well getting all the metals I wanted would mean I had to Invest In tons of nids ( many are metals) and also gobbos it would be a big investment and to be honest I had my attention on better stuff outhere... Today its even a bigger investment and with less value, GW gotta be kidding me, no way I will play that kind of money for that kind of product... and Im the kind of guy that can splash 100 euros on one resin miniature if the quality and design is there.
