sea.man`s WFB von Carstein's Vampire Counts

Post by sea.man »

Yet another tale of mine! Since there is no limit how many you can have, I will post my updates here
What is my goal? Paint 2500 points by the end of the next year.

Color code:
Orange: Not all minis painted
Green: All minis painted

Core:
skeletons 30
ghouls 10
zombie 20
corpse cart 1
dire wolves 10

Special:
grave guard 20
black knights 5
hexwrights 5
vargheists 3

Rare:
varghulf
blood knights 5

Heroes:
Mannfred von Carstein the acolyte
Konrad von Carstein
Isabella von Carstein
Necromancer 1/2
Blood Dragon Vampire
Mounted Blood Dragon Vampire
Mounted Lahmian Vampire
Strigoi Vampire
Wight king
Mortis Engine
Krell
Wright

Lords:
Vlad von Carstein -old
Vlad von Carstein -new
Count Mannfred von Carstein
Heinrich Kemmler
Ghoul King
Vampire Lord on dragon

The main colour is purple, there will be roses as a symbol and every bigger unit will have a necromancer (as a unit filler) so it would look as if they are animated to move to the battle.

Dire wolves you have already seen and the new unit are the skeletons. There are 31 of them plus a 9 bases big unit filler.

Thanis the Bonecaller from Reaper as a unit filler.

I think it is going quite well, Varghulf has been cleaned and primed, and is patiently waiting in line for being painted.
Also already did a base for it.

I am looking for an idea for spirit hosts, GW metal ones are too expensive. I don't have any spare miniatures to paint them as ghosts.
Popular ideas are to use empire flagellants(I get 3 spirit host bases) or LotR dead unit (I get 6 spirit host bases). I still have to check Reaper's assortment.
Can you help me with some ideas?
Maybe you know some manufacturers that have nice looking ghosts?
