Yesterday I bought this funny guy.. I try to paint it in NMM but i've got a lot of problems with this tehnique - it's my third or fourth nmm attempt... I don't have idea how to paint it like bright gold. I started from thinned Snakebite leather to white. Anyone have idea what coulur add to snakebite leather to shade it? I don't want to add black...

This is my subject.. with lots of funny squares and stripes...

And still I have problem with light on NMM, is there a simple solution how to get good NMM? :curtain:

yeah...
polish the mini, and when it's shiny put it under a lamp - you will see where lights and shadows are on the mini. take a photo and use it for reference.
NMM is mostly about strong contrasts, so you should have no problems with it.

That spider was done soooo quickly ! I blink, i move apartments and when i get back it's all done.... ^^

The harlequin is looking great but Mahon is right NMM is about 2 things from my experience, huge amounts of contrast and opposites. Where going from black to white is quite common or at least almost to those extremities and the highlights and shadows need to border one another in a realistic way to create opposites giving sharp lines of where light is picked up.

Thanks for your advices, it's really helpful! I will post some new photos of harleqiun propably on monday.

Yes arctica... spider was done so quickly that I didn't notice when it happened.. It can not be done without airbrush and fast dissolved putty. Now is placed in a shop cabinet and I miss him sometime :P

Nice lancer ^^
It reminds me of a Top Gear episode where they were crossing Africa and doors that fell off got mended with wooden panels and so on :)

Anyway, what is your goal? What do you want it to be? A general rustbucket, destruction derby,...

I have a little update of progress, I have to remove white dots and add some more fun gadgets (for example stethoscope)..
A goal is to make Mad Max style car - lot horsepower, rust and dirt. I decided to build an ambulance.
