Well machoń covered moust of the cases
model you choos to paint - dont need to be SpaCE Marine - it mey be eny other plastic model (no no new Cabalite DE wariors - thous are made of Spikes )
I think that Space marines are good testing objects. Lots of flat surface, but also with some simple details. Of course the plastic ones.
In fantasy genre I would go for Lotr models (metals this time) - they are cheap, simply enough but more interesting(and difficult) than plastic Space Bricks.

I think a big problem is maybe your picture quality. Most of the pictures are blurred, and prehaps look a little worse on the photo than they do in real life.

For example this first picture doesnt look too good, however the second one looks great in comparrison (I especially like the skin and facial tatoo), even though its exactly the same mini, with exactly the same paint job. Which makes me wonder if some of the other minis you posted also look a lot better in person?

Does your camera have a Macro function? Most digital cameras come with this function nowadays, it gives you a much sharper focus when photographing small objects like minis, and eliminates a lot of the bluring you generally experience when trying to take close up shots.

Lighting can also make a big difference, I noticed that the top picture that doesnt look as good has a big shadow behind it, where as the nicer bottom picture doesnt. Are you using a flash? That can often make minis look a lot worse (The light tends to be too harsh, and can obscure a lot of detail).

you want to show how good you are or to learn?
we told you yo forget what you already know because you need to fix some mistakes you are making at the early stages. without seeing the stages speaately we won't be able to point to the errors.

do what you want, but then your thread will look like Gildor's

Hi welcome,

Since everything is much said, i say just two things, check some treads were the advices were followed and i think you will be very happy to do the same.

For last as the sensei of kung fu panda said :"you need to learn to choose the bamboo, before you can eat it".

Now for real painting is a art that takes time and lots of practice you can only be happy if someone takes time to teach you

You can use the "Img" Button to add pictures, just insert the link in the middle of img](insert_here_link)[/rimg

As for the painting it seems your paint is too dry, i sugest diluting and not painting straight from the pot

- shrink them to more usable way :) end it will be much easerto post them

end about painting - well it is a base coat .. end not iven well layed

so fix that - we dont whana see white
secound thing - it is not about flushing whole mini in Blue (ye thats uterrly boring :) ) but on precise applaing paint on mini

by "flat painting" we think about mini in not shaded (nor inked / diped ect..) colors but clean :)

https://www.coolminiornot.com/articles/1 ... terminator

- the third stage of Termi - is what we expect :)
