Carapace - Feather on Warlock Purple

I guess I also heard the term "Feather" somewhere before, may anyone pls kindly tell me what it is? Same as dry brushing? Thx a lot.

Feathering isn't drybrushing but a technique between drybrushing and full controlled painting strokes. The light touch of a brush gives a slight gradient of paint and generally only uses the end of the brush but more than the tip itself. I also use feathering as a way of helping the transitions between blends seem smoother but can only really be done when the paint is still slightly wet.
