LOTR Prince Imrahil

Post by LadyEyes »

Did this a while back. Still haven't gotten posed pics of him, but these show a good bit.

I know a lot of what I need to do to improve for next time, so please not too harsh of comments on what to improve. I'd love good, constructive comments, though. (My ego took a little of a beating with this.)

Thanks!

this is the first miniature I see from you, and seriously : I didn't know you painted that good ! I love the colour scheme and the freehand on the cape. Class A stuff.

my comment would be to add a little more depth to the metallic armour. some purple / black glazes could help there, darkening the overall surface and then you could put some stark highlights on the edges to make it 'shine' .

I wanna see more of your models lady ;)

Lovely piece! :D I agree with Jasper on some more shading on the metallics and maybe the whites. Otherwise great job!

Very well done on this one, I paint alot of LOTR and they are not easy, I have done this one too and it again is not easy. I like the freehand work on the cloak and banner and also the horses barding.

:lol: So much for my posting stuff here before, huh? ;)

Thanks for the kind words and good ideas. This is actually the first piece I've ever done this level of detail on, and it was my first attempt at real freehand work. It turned out ok, but I've got plenty of room for improvement still. :roll:

Thats pretty nice! The barding came out beautifully! And a nifty base frame too!

I like this mini very much: for me painting lotr minis is damn hard, especially painting freehand on the folds... :?
the mini is for my personal taste too "bright" but otoh it represents the guy of the "good side" so it cannot be painted in dark tones;
overall - very nicely painted :D
