Click to see full-sized imageThe effects of Hurricane Katrina on the United States Gulf Coast have been devastating. We all watched in horror as the hurricane gained strength and bore down on Mississippi and wreaked havoc on New Orleans. In the face of so much destruction and suffering, we felt that we had to take action to assist those affected.
We have called upon the talents of mini painters worldwide and gained a resounding response of cooperation and kindness. Our contributors include Golden Demon winners, professional mini painting studios, painting guilds, art instructors, and many others who simply enjoy the hobby and want to contribute to the greater good.
Each artist will paint one or more figures, which we will auction on eBay, with 100% of the sale donated to assist the victims of the hurricane.
We are beginning by distributing figures to those who were willing to paint but unable to purchase miniatures of their own. We used our own army box of Games Workshop Wood Elves that we had on hand and available for immediate distribution. However, the project is open to all ranges of figures. Indeed, several of our contributors are already painting other figures and even terrain items.
Primarily, we would appreciate any exposure you can give to this project. The more painters and gamers who are aware of our auctions, the more money we can raise for those who need it.
Secondly, if you are a figure painter, we would be overjoyed if you could take time from your schedule and paint a figure for such a good cause.
Finally, if you are in a position to contribute materials which can be used for an auction, you could enable artists with the desire to help a vehicle with which to do so.
