I'm calling the Prince done and moving on to other parts of the army. I'm working on six Obliterators right now, and they are taking FOREVER because they involve a lot of sculpting, which I haven't done much of until now. I'll post pictures as soon as I consider any of them done.

I have a set deadline of a full army painted and playable by mid-December. I'm putting some thought to a small unit of chosen with a rhino to act as entourage for the sorcerer, or I may make an allied unit of Thousand Sons. I don't play the game or even own the rules, so have no idea how much more stuff I need to paint to play the game. There's a convention in February that I'm going to where the 40K tourney seems like it might be fun.

Stuff I need to finish:
  • Basing and maybe some more painting on the Deamon Prince.
  • A Defiler with one or two arms modeled to look like construction equipment; a concrete saw, and a drill or heavy flamer.
  • Six Obliterators, which are so far the biggest time sink in the project.
  • Two Rhinos for the Chaos Warriors
Stuff that's done or mostly done:
  • Thirty Chaos Warriors
  • One Rhino
  • Chaos Sorcerer of Tzeench.

the demon prince looks really cool in this color scheme and with your paintjob. really.
i didn't even expect it to looks comparably cool.

I think a bit more work on the metallics (washes, wiping them off, then more washes, maybe some inks) would immensely improve the look.

so when are we going to see something more? :)

Well! It has been a while since I've done any painting at all. Here's a group shot of the whole army at last!

They're on an old baking sheet because every model has a rare earth magnet underneath. If I had the nerve I could probably hold it upside down.

They didn't turn out as nice as I'd hoped, and then life got in the way. Haven't painted in months because of it unfortunately.

Well to be fair as an army they look really coherent and work well together, the odd spots of colour now and then brighten them up quite alot. Nice job, so when will you get back into the painting schedule? ^^

It's roughly 1500 points, and yes it's a finished army as far as I know. I don't play any GW games, so I don't have any of the rules other than a few skims through a Chaos Codex belonging to a friend.

I did it to see if I could do it. I just sold it on eBay for a disappointingly small amount of money.

The next project will be a Circle army for Hordes, which is a game that I do play.
