Glen's Iron Warriors

Post by gmurie »

I have an Iron Warrior's Army that I'm working on, and have stalled out on. I'm working on the following models.

Three squads of ten warriors with Rhinos
A sorcerer
A demon prince (one of the new ones)
Converted defiler with construction equipment CCWs
six obliterators scratch built from terminators and devastators and lots and lots of putty.

Here are pictures of what I've managed so far.

The one in front is the Sorcerer. I still need to finish basing and detailing.

This squad just needs undercoating. I'll do it when the next one is assembled

This squad still needs assembling. The autocannon is scratch built from lots of bits.

These Obliterators are build from CSM Terminators, SM Devastors, and lots of bits and putty.
They are taking FOREVER. They're in robes because they're cultists see?

Closeup of to nearly done Oblits. The one on left is all sculpted from the waist down.

All of the models are glued to their bases. The Obliterator Cult models have thin pieces of plasticard between the feet and the base, and they've been lengthened out by creating gaps between the knees and waist, and their heads are mounted a little above where they're supposed to be. That way they stand about a head taller than chaos terminators. I don't want it to look like I just mashed together some stock terminators and heavy weapons. I did this because I don't like the current Obliterator models and wanted to see if I could do something as good or better myself.

I only rarely paint models separate from their bases, and never for large scale projects like this.

I like that autocanon, it looks very good. I would like to see those obliterators painted because they are a promising project :)
