those work areas look great, mine looks so tacky compared to both of these. Oh and Corvus you're far too neat and organised :D still areas like that would be nice places to paint at. Perhaps i should consider fixing up my place with something more dedicated.

Jen's workplace is something where I would be able to work. Yours is way too neat for me, Gerrie. I would be overwhelmed by the order you have there :P

When browsing the Ikea website, I've stumbled upon the 'Vika' table solution. This lets you choose from a range of tabletops and table legs.

Tabletops are available in several sizes, and the legs can be normal legs or legs which are basically drawers or storage cabinets.

For example this can be used as a table leg:

Looks veeeery useful :)

I recently came upon this kind of thing:

It stores some 50 reaper/valleo type bottles and I got it for like 13EUR +shipping. The seller also had one with 8 rows, but I rather consider buying another one such as this to hold all the paints, but it is enough to store the most commonly used. I will take a picture back at home.
Do not underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers...
