Wedding cake

Post by Bren »

Me and my boyfriend are getting married next year, and obviously we want to have two miniatures on top of our wedding cake (and maybe on the wedding invitation as well). We've been trying to find suitable models, but I thought maybe it's a good idea to ask for some help. So far we've got two ideas:

1. use both undead models from Freebooter, he's so cute holding that rose... but I guess my mum might not like these so much... the scythe has to go ofcourse.

2. Cordelia (without the gun) and a Pulp City guy in suit (also without the weapons)

Does anybody else know some nice ladies in a ball gown/victorian style dress or a guy in a suit? Preferrably without weapons or easy to remove-weapons. Thanks a lot!!

Great idea and congrats on this serious decision!

Why don't you check the 'court of the frog king' or something like this from the Dark Sword range? These are truly excellent miniatures with king & queen models, no weapons, nice clothes, and a funny touch to them :)

first of all - best wishes to you and your chosen one :)

wedding cake figures now...
undead pair looks really good together, but do you really want skeletons on your wedding cake? I wouldn't but YMMV.
2nd pair - nice minis and would both be a good choice. but, she has an old-fashioned dress and he wears a modern suit.

I like Mahon's proposal, good choice if you want something less serious :)

is 30mm enough? perhaps you'd like something bigger, like 54mm?

you could even add this to create a big scene on your cake :)

Congrats to you and your other half, I have to agree that although the undead pairing are really nice i don't see them as being "wedding material". The suggestions so far aren't too bad tho :)

Great findings Phil! You could do very well in wedding businesses :-)
I would go for the last one.

It's on the 18th on June :)

Thanks all for your help, I've thought about 54mm as well (visibility on a distance would be better) and I've even thought about those Smart Max figures but they ar a bit too... steampunk for me I guess. I saw them all IRL on Crisis and they're all wonderful models but somehow a bit too strange. And a bit too expensive to mess and greenstuff with (not too expensive for my wedding if they were perfect as the are ofcourse).

I like the guy holding the red dressed girl in his arms but she seems a bit... dead to me. But maybe some repositioning would work (her head a bit higher and her hanging arm around his neck or something).

I've thought about the frogs too, however, I've agreed with Miniaturenland to paint most of the remaining frogs for them (one down, at least 3 to go) so I think I'm a bit done with frogs after that :bonk:

I'll keep you up to date how everything turns out, might take a while though...
