Painting yellow... Any thoughts?

The triangle in the middle of his waist, beneath his backpack, seems to have a highlight in a part that would be in shadow: I'd just keep the highlight on the upper edge. If a backpack will be added, that part of the robe might not be hit by light at all.

For shading yellow, try mixing in a bit of purple, the complimentary color of yellow.

Looks very smooth so far.

Purple...ish. Not sure how it goes with the yellow, though. Sorry for the poor pics, good camera is gone again.

@Lastman - thanks, will see about fixing the triangle. I was using some purple to shade but I overdid it. I'll be trying again in a day or so. Any suggestions on how much purple to use? Normally when blending I'd go from colour 1, mixes of colours 1 and 2 approaching colour 2, to pure colour 2. Seems a bit silly to go to pure purple from yellow...

Ach sorry I should have been more clear. You just need to add a tiny bit of the complimentary color to "desaturate" it--that is to make it a shade. What you will be seeing is a darker yellow, not purple.

For example, if you were using black and white, you'd add a tiny bit of black to the white to make a gray. Add more black to make a darker gray. But you do this with yellow and purple instead of black and white.

Part 3 or 4 of this video by Romain covers shading.

So I'm hoping this will be an entry for GD. I know it's not my best, but here goes.

There's still many hours work to do, but I'd like some advice on improving the NMM gold. Any help?

Thanks for the comments guys. Sorry about the photos. Stuck using my phone. :(

Anyway, hopefully these will be better. And something else I'm working on. Let me know what you think, particularly Eowyn's sword. :)

Also, these pics are exaggerated in their brightness. Will get some in natural light tomorrow.

The tzeench sorcerer is competition level  Freehand is great, but a bit how to say it - alone, or maybe looks like copy pasted not the integral part of the cloack. Do you get the idea what I mean? Maybe adding more symbols around would help it.

Eowyn's sword needs more work, blend the color transitions.
