Re: Werner's Showcase

I finished La fin de la bataille.
It was a great miniature to paint. I've learned a lot from this forum and made some improvements but I know I've to learn a lot. So any C&C is welcome

seriously, bigger pics would be helpful if you want thorough analysis :)
I'd say that progress is clearly visible, there's quite a good contrast and smoothness.

base could be more interesting, if it is a contest piece, both construction and painting wise. also, the shield is bit flat and not as smooth. check the red cloth and try to repeat the process with other paints to achieve the contrast and smoothness :)

As by your other miniatures the paint job is clean and color selection is ok. Generally the contrast is also, but I would add a bit more highlights.

Base is completely lame... It looks as if it was drybrushed once and that's it.
miniatures painted:
2011 - 83, 2012 - 38, 2013 - 45, 2014 - 56, 2015 - 95, 2016 - 106, 2017 - 22

Thanks for the tips and comments, I'll keep them in mind.

I've finished 3 more Goblin Warriors, 6 to go (from 18, I've sold the other 18).

I finished 'The Goblin Scribe'. I've tried Devlan Mud instead of Baal Red as a wash. I like the result. I'm going to give it a try on 'Grinnah the Goblin' (is little big bigger ;-))

I finished three more goblins. These Goblins had a white undercoat instead of a black one.

Below you see the difference in the red. Left is the white undercoat, right the black. The is difference in the skintone but that's because I used layering on the left one.

White because I've to paint one less layer. But the red wash is too pink, so I'm going to try other washes like the sepia one, maybe a Devlan mud.
