Last week I ordered the model below from Kabuki Models. I'm very excited about starting this figure so I'm doing a bit of brainstorming on how I will paint it. So I decided to paint it in metallics rather than NMM as it's pictured in the studio paintjob (by Alfonso Giraldez aka banshee). I've also decided I want to keep close to the studio paintjob when it comes down to the choice of colors.
Now I don't know what metallic color I could be using to paint the armor. I want something similar to the studio paintjob, but then in metallic paint.
What's the name of this color and could I use to reproduce it (I prefer GW metallics).
Looks like chainmail silver with several thin washes of catacan(sp?) olive green highlighted with mithril. That is what it looks like in my monitor. Hope ti helps some anyway.
Don't forget that you can mix ordinary colors with metallics, creating new interesting paints. This method gives somehow different results than just washing a plain silver surface. It also allows you to do normal shading and highlighting. Just remember that to enhance the shadows go to non-metallics, and for highlights add for example silver (not white).
What I see on the picture is indeed silver+catachan green (or sth similar) and silver+brown/orange on the sides.
