I think I know what you mean, I wanted to keep the coat dark though. Think if i'd have started off darker I could have been able to add more highlights and still kept it dark.

Thought i'd try and paint up an Imperial Guard. Im pretty pleased so far. It's ok, think it was quite a dark wash then a couple of highlights. If I'm honest if I did it again I would make the overall skin tone darker. Being supposed to be a rugged dwarf an all that.
