Re: Once in a while I manage to "finish" a model
Hi Yeah I guess at the moment its a little plain. Its just the base that comes with the model. The problem I have is I've not even considered bases in anyway, so wouldn't really know where to start. Which is why the majority of my bases have some texture paint and a bit of drybrushing (like this one...

Re: Once in a while I manage to "finish" a model
Hello again I realise I have been very quiet on here (real life has been getting busy with work and other things) But I have managed to do some painting and even have got as far as "finishing" a model (in so as I consider anything finished) So I present my "finished" High Elf Fla...

Re: Once in a while I manage to "finish" a model
Thanks guys. Will look into setting up a ToG thread for them, might be the motivation I need to finish the models I have. As for the current lot, I will look at defining the edges of the blades a bit better, I think its just chainmail atm so mithril silver should work (not that I've ever been able t...

Re: Once in a while I manage to "finish" a model
So the stars were aligned correctly (and with a free weekend) and I managed to "finish" some models (note the plural :)) So I spent the weekend working on the Dark Eldar reaver jetbikes I mentioned in my WIP thread and they are now at the point where I consider them "finished" (u...

Re: Lots of Work In Progress (most of my model collection)
Hello again Apologies for being rather silent on here, real life, family and work kind of got in the way. However, having cleaned up my painting area (and put up some new shelves) my plan is to focus on the Dark Eldar models. The first thing I want to focus on are my reaver jetbikes and so I'm looki...

Re: Lots of Work In Progress (most of my model collection)
It's okay I can understand the confusion. I tend to have a lot of different projects on the go, possibly as I struggle with finishing them. But yes going to (re)read the osl tutorial and see what I can come up with. Have just managed to actually use my new painting area so I might even make progress...

Re: Your work area photos
Another clean desk - nice :D Thanks but its only like that because I moved into the flat two weeks ago and have only just got around to setting it up :D Maybe I should post another photo this time next year and do a comparison (hopefully there will be different unpainted miniatures on it if nothing...

Re: Your work area photos
So I haven't been able to do much painting, but I have started setting up my new work area so I thought I would share (aren't you all excited :D) So this is what I currently have set up (there is a lamp/magnifier just above this which is providing the illumination) http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8477...

Colour Scheme Ideas/Inspiration
Hello again, Not sure if this is the right section to post this or not, apologies if it isn't. Having almost finished moving into a new flat and hopefully setting up a nice painting area I'm starting to look at what I have to paint, and this is where I'm running into difficulties, not from not havin...

Re: Lots of Work In Progress (most of my model collection)
Yeah, someone else suggested that as well, so I will give it a try. Thinking of mixing the highlight colour with a little white and using it as a fine line highlight on the edge of the edges. What I'm considering is deciding on the direction of a light source and applying the highlight to those edge...
