I couldn't be at Golden Demon Germany 2011 in person (despite living only a 30 minute drive from the venue ... that's life as a family man ) but I stumbled across a facebook gallery showing the winners of yesterdays event. The Slayer Sword went to Matt Cexwish for a very creative and outside-the-box (as always with his works) diorama.

we heard some rumours about Camelson with Gold in Open, still waiting for confirmation and more specific information

EDIT: ofcourse MattCexwish winning the sword is also CofC member, even if we can rarely see him here

even if Matt was a mediocre painter (that he is not) his creative works would be still winning him trophies. he doesn't quite fit into the 'miniature painting' contest frames, his works tend to be more than that, like entries to some contest of innovative creations.

@mahon: yes, I agree. Even though Matt is obviously a very good painter, what really sets him apart from others are his unorthodox mind and the creativity to realize those ideas.
