II CofC Mini Exchange

Post by Nameless »

Last year a few people here had been thinking about a Mini Exchange to be held here on CofC. The final decision was to keep the first events small, to get some experience before making the ME open for all members.
The first mini exchange had only 6 participants. You can check the minis we have painted in THIS THREAD

The 2nd Mini Exchange is slightly bigger, yet it is not a fully open formula once again. We (organisers) have sent invitations to the most active members of our forum and received 17 replies. If this exchange is succesful, we will surely consider an 'open' mini exchange without limits :)

There are many different ways to organise mini exchanges. We have decided to base ours on a format seen on the Reaper forum. Every participant receives a name and address of another participant (chosen randomly) and paints a mini for that person. That means that no one (apart from one of the organisers who is selecting 'pairs') knows who is painting for who. Yes, we do like the element of surprise and receiving gifts! :D

This thread was created to discuss this and future CofC Mini Exchanges. If you have any doubts, questions or ideas - please share them with us here, no matter if you are participating this time or not.

FAQ:

Q: what paintjob quality is expected?
A: no one expects a contest winner, but a bit of effort is welcome and motivated. It's more about having fun and sending gifts to fellow painters and members of CofC.

Q: is the ME international?
A: yes, you have to expect the possibility of international shipping.

50% done I think. But a bit bored with it for the moment.
Oh and the base is done.
