Reaper Winter '08 Painting Contest

Post by Nameless »

Come one, come all! Post your best winter-themed paint job on a Reaper figure. (Yes, this is a C&P from the Halloween contest)

Weigh your chances, enter wisely. Enter as many times as you like, but only one entry per user will be eligible for the final vote.

This thread will be locked January 1st, 2009 (1 minute after midnight, CST, in fact). Then our staff will pick the best 10 entrants after we've had a chance to sleep off our eggnog. Then you vote on those 10. And three lucky people will get a lovely gift certificate.

Prizes for less than 20 entrants:
1st: $50 Gift Certificate
2nd: $25 Gift Certificate
3rd: $15 Gift Certificate

And here's a new wrinkle!

If we have 20 people produce credible entries then we'll put 20 entries in the final vote and the prize values go up. So tell your friends!

Prizes for 20 entrants or more:
1st: $100 Gift Certificate
2nd: $50 Gift Certificate
3rd: $25 Gift Certificate

Fine print:
Reaper reserves the right to remove entries if deemed inappropriate, but the general nudity rules will be lifted for this contest.
Inappropriate in this case includes a non-Reaper figure or something that can't be justified as Winterish.
Photoshopping your entry is strictly prohibited. Even something simple like adding a logo is prohibited.
Enter as many times as you like, but only one entry per user will be eligible for the final vote.
Entry here in no way DQs you from the ReaperCon contest.
Previously posted stuff is fair game. This is a friendly contest.
The certificates will be redeemable through the Asylum Online Store.
Reaper can clarify and amend rules at will.
We'll be the judge of "credible." No "dip-in-nail-polish" entries will count. But don't worry, we're friendly.

Posting Guidelines:
Please attach your entries using the forum uploading feature. We want to make sure they're visible at all times.
Please keep critiques and any other chatter to yourselves within the thread. Any non-entry posting can be deleted at any time.

Begin!

@Demi - of course. CAV are reaper minis, you just have to make them winterish. Snow base, perhaps winter camo?

@Dargrin - if I find enough time around christmas, I might enter something

Hope you can. Since money is so tight around my house going to comps around the globe isn't much of an option for me. Online stuff is the only way I can do this. I would really love to see lot of good people compete with me.

I just finished up mine tonight. I hope to post it if I can figure out how to take a good shot with it.

Personally I'd vote for Thryth but then I'm a sucker for well toned flesh ;)
Getting back into the thick (or rather thin as in thinning my paints) of it, not picked up a brush in some time so this may hurt a bit until I get used to the feel of them again
