This is my first miniature army, and I'm trying my best to finish 2000 points for a local tourney happening this June (I don't know if I am going to make it), I'm going to post my WIP here and hopefully get some motivation to keep at it.
So one of my strategies for finishing on time is to field an elite heavy army, so I've started with a squad of Sternguard Vets, here they are!
My sergeant, armed with a Powerfist and a Combi-Melta. Base model is an old metal techmarine - I cut off the head and replaced it with a plastic one, changed both arms and added a small Crux Terminatus to the waist to brand him as a vet.
My meltagunner. His entire left arm is replaced with a grafted-on Meltagun. Loincloth is made up of filed-down pouches, right arm is replaced with metal tentacles from a servitor model.
A normal bolter marine just in the squad to soak up wounds. Doesn't mean he doesn't get proper attention. I replaced his legs with tracks from 15mm gun drones bought from GroundZeroGames. Wires leading between his tracks are actually scout ropes.
Another normal bolter dude. Some kitbashing using varied 15mm parts from GZG again for the right leg and a servo arm from a servitor for his extra left arm (look closely, he has 2 left arms)
Combi-plasma gunner. Very straightforward kitbash - arm from Puppetswar and leg from Maxmini. Gun is built from 2 plasma pistols and a bolter.
I'll update when I have more minis/pics. Cheers and wish me luck!

WIP pics of my scouts:

Blocked in metals and some colors, no washing or highlighting yet. The "thingy" on the back of the scouts counts as a camo cloak.
My kitbashed techmarines:

Tried to save some cash and kitbashed 2 techmarines from spare servitor arms.
Till next time!

After about a year in recluse (mostly due to getting married and starting new work), I'm getting my hands dirty with this army again. Fresh off the painting table is an Iron Hands Sergeant for my tactical squad with a Power Fist and Combi-Melta.
