chain reaction - BATTLE REPORT

Post by Demi_morgana »

finally - a BATTLE REPORT! :D
this week we painted gaming table so and last night we had the first struggle on new surface :)
we played chain reaction - the objective was to bring the mechanic to abandoned apc, get into it and start the engine...
sounds easy?
NOOO FUC*ING WAY! :D

dirty preparations: I guess I was trying to measure the ceiling
too bad I forgot to take dices from home and d6, d8 and d10 were the only stuff we found at Deco's place
(btw - chain reaction requires only d6s... :? )

overview of the battlefield, making up objectives and choosing starting table edges...

of course Deco got more cover but I decided to annihilate him and complete the mission: with cover or without it! :army:

here're my troops: ready to eat their guts and ask for the second

and of course - mission objective; looks innocent doesn't it? 8)

rrright:
Deco got first turn and moved shotgun guys and main leader closer to my forces,
one of them was shot by my legionairee (who dies 2 minutes later... )

rest of husars rushed forward, 2 hmg oparators secure center of the field ready to gun down anyone stupid enough to move into 48" hagelsturm's range...

my turn: main leader, mechanic and several necros ran to the next cover, unfortunatelly well placed hagelsturm did bloody good job and took down 2 legionairees...

2 squads I left in a rear are on positions:
what a shame rifles have twice longer range than shotguns

ImageClick to see full-sized image
mechanic party run another 16" - still unseen by bauhaus long range weapons...

ImageClick to see full-sized image
ImageClick to see full-sized image
backstabbin' group is slowly moving to ruins...

ImageClick to see full-sized image
husars reached another building...

ImageClick to see full-sized image
hmg opperator wanted to mess with legionairees from behind the building - but looks like my necromutant spent more time practicing shooting ergo there was only one hmg left to take down! :army:

ImageClick to see full-sized image
2 troopers distracted another hmg operator's attention from babysitting field's center - one of them paid for it with own life  :rip:
but the mission objective is clear: mechanic must reach apc - no matter the cost :army:

ImageClick to see full-sized image
mechanic group is on position: the vehicle is 5" behind the wall...

ImageClick to see full-sized image
but bauhaus mechanic is damn close too!

ImageClick to see full-sized image
ImageClick to see full-sized image
thanks to covering fire zombie warrior gets REALLY close to the enemy - still unnoticed 8)

ImageClick to see full-sized image
my group is preparing for run to apc - the only problem is another hagelsturm... :?

ImageClick to see full-sized image
legionairee is keeping eye on apc and tank - enemy mechanic cannot move from behind cover unseen

ImageClick to see full-sized image
rear squad run forward to solve hagelsturm problem...

ImageClick to see full-sized image
damn! mechanic and seregant are almost at hatch!
only one of bauhaus troopers didn't manage to reach apc...

ImageClick to see full-sized image
ImageClick to see full-sized image
Deco tries to stick the nose out of the ruins - god bless my well placed hmg operator! :D

ImageClick to see full-sized image
necromutant places cross-fire at husars in the ruins: eventually killed 2 of these goodie-goodie bastards :sniper:

ImageClick to see full-sized image
hmg forced me to get some protection in the ruins - damn 48" range! :x
and where's my support???

ImageClick to see full-sized image
ImageClick to see full-sized image
flamer carrier and assistant babysit the rhino: I'm gonna fuc*in'toast everyone trying to touch hatch!

ImageClick to see full-sized image
mechanic is at doorway - preparing for a suicide run to a hatch...

ImageClick to see full-sized image
ImageClick to see full-sized image
damn! damn! damn!
bauhaus seregant was faster! the bastard killed my mechanic and took out of action my main leader!!!

ImageClick to see full-sized image
for a ghastly moment I thought I'll loose the battle - but in last turn my necromutant inflicted 2 deadly wounds to Deco's hmg operator;
he left without leaders and heavy weapons, I left without a mechanic, beers run out:
we agreed it was DRAW :)
for saving honour and good (or maybe better: evil  ) name or my army this necromutant deserved for repainting and for a medal :D

with all those beers around I suppose that finding that apc was the most difficult thing :D
Nice report, nice pics, nice terrain. I like your bottle and can terrains.

I've built these terrains during past 2 years I guess :)
cans are new ones, the buildings - the oldest
actually I built so much terrains that I decided to put all fantasy ones on ebay...

NAVARRO wrote:It makes me want to play necromunda with you guys... and nice table Demi.
feel invited and I mean it :D
although it wasn't necromunda game but chain reaction :)
the only gw parts we used during the battle were plastic details on my paper rhino...
