Eldar army

Post by sea.man »

hi,
I`m planning to start playing WH40k and my army choice were the erldars. Most of the armies have one colour scheme, f. e. Blood Angels - red... etc.
But each eldar unit has it`s own special colour - Scorpions are green, Reapers - black, Banshees - bone, Fire Dragons - orange and yellow...
Would it look nice if all the units were painted with one scheme?

Or is it better to leave them in original colours?

I want the bases to be desert like, filled with building ruins. What colours would match best?

IMO it's alway good to keep similar scheme to all models in your army. If you wish to make your aspect warriors distinct, paint their helmets in "aspect colours" and leave the rest the same as your army scheme.

even though I got used to the GW way of painting eldar armies (each aspect in its color) I'd prefer to use one color scheme for the whole army. It just makes it look like an army..
and if you want to mark your units in some way, just give them a distinguishing element of a chosen color.

I could leave helmets, shoulder/knee pads in aspect colours...
now I have to find the colour scheme for my "desert eldars"

I've been contemplating the same question and altough I've postponed the creation of an eldar army(I'm waiting for the dark eldar and I'm finishing my dark angels) but my soluion would have been this:

the way I see it these eldar are all kind of wearing a sort of body suit studded with some armor plates. My idea was to keep the body suits in 1 colour in the complete army and paint the armor plates in "aspect"-colors.

A friend of mine painted his army in muted browns and khaki colours and they looked fantastic. So as army colours go i reckon they would be great :D
