Maybe black lining would work where the skin meets the cloth? Make it a starker line so that the two pieces look even more separate.

That might work, alternatively I was considering some quick freehand tattoos on the skin, mainly on the arm.

Right with the Monk pretty much done, I thought I'd push on and do some more painting before going for a swim, so I've updated and made progress on the bust I was painting up. Here he is so far!

wow that's pretty huge black eye .... but the eye is too clean in it, maybe it would take some blood into the eye :)

Just starting a Grey Knights army, here's my HQ. I'd say he's pretty much done now. Maybe I'll define the hammer haft a little more, maybe not. The pictures don't really do it justice :(
