These are not my latest work, I just thought I post them here as a start .
I needed some giant rats for my Mordheim Skaven band about 5 years ago, so I bought a rat swarm blister, and put them on separate bases. Since the rats themselves are not very interesting figures, I thought I pay a bit more attention on the bases. They are not meant as display pieces, but I think they turned out quite okay.
One big pic of them:

Mordheim Giant Rats
RE: Mordheim Giant Rats
the one with the roped base is my favourite!:D
didyou sculpt the rope or it's a very small one?

It is a sort of real rope. I found it along my parents' garden tools, I think it was used to fix grape branches on the supporting sticks, or something similar .
I glued the rope on the base and then painted it. It has very nice texture.
(Sorry, if I don't use proper gardening expressions, I'm not very familiar in this field ).

wow, these rats were never my favorites, but your bases show us how much can be achieved by imaginative basing!
