Re: Hellspawn's Salamanders

My advice would be to pick the white based one. You're painting an army, you want the stuff to shine and to achieve that with the less work as possible, so i think white undercoat with preshading is the way to go, i do however believe that some extra work will be needed on shadows/lightning, just us...

Re: Motivation for painting

That last point is very interesting - it makes you feel nice when you come back to the desk. I'll try to clean it after current project :) We have found new hierarchy of unpainted miniatures :) 1) hall of shame 2) pile of lead 3) cellar of boxes 4) mountain of shame If Real estate wasn't so damn ex...

Re: Hellspawn's Salamanders

From what i read from your post and what i remember from the tanks, what you find wrong is either lightning positioning and/or blending colors together. If i remember well, you wanted to achieve strong contrasts (à la bubu) and you did, but the transitions were a bit odd that's a blending issue. Wha...

Re: Hellspawn's Salamanders

Don't. The way you paint isn't that taxing on motivation (we're talking layers with an airbrush here, not paintbrush layering), however you do need to streamline it more. What killed your motivation last year is starting at the same time 3 huge landraiders while just having finished more green salam...

Re: Games Workshop

I like them! The Hydra and Kraken could have been better but still okish in my taste.
The sisters of slaughter really remind me of Raging Heroes minis tho!

Re: CoolMiniOrNot:

They haven't fully delivered a single KS so far (not sure about Zombicide 1 wave 2 tho) so i'd rather see them focus on that rather than pulling yet another project...

Re: Reaper Miniatures

McVey on his tutorial videos for the Sedition Wars minis literally cut the mold line with a super sharp blade (think surgery material, not hobby knife)...
I think that material is ok for board games figures, but really not for something that emphasize on the miniatures themselves.
