after all those brutal drunes I decided to paint something more subtle. Here is Last sigh – mini from Figone. This is my first figure from this manufacturer, so now let’s give it a closer look.
The mini is made of high quality resin. The details are really great, despite they’re quite subtle.
The mini has 2 assembly options – she can hold a bird (probably a hawk) or eastern looking axe/halberd. I like her more with the first option. The quality of the cast is great and almost no work is required before painting.
And here is another mini from Figone – Rhymaiss. As you can see, the details are also superb, almost no mould lines are visible. I’m sure I will paint it soon. I’ll only have to choose appropriate base and paint scheme…
Let’s return to Last sigh – here is how I painted her. I wanted her to look like eastern princess from One thousand and one nights tale, so I used rather clear and vivid colors. The color scheme is similar to the one on manufacturer’s site.
On the base I used oriental arch with door – resin scenery element also made by Figone. It fits this mini perfectly. The floor is made of pieces of plastic card.
Overall, painting this mini was a pleasure. I don’t know why, but painting figures of beautiful ladies is always pleasant 🙂
time for big update. I finished Jowan of Carn Dhu with his hounds. The minis are form Mierce Miniatures.
Jowan is typical for Ysian drunes – lots of muscles, fur and armor. He has many nice details to paint.
The skin of doggies is dark grey, although I tried to make contrasts between shadows and highlights clear and sharp. I have chosen purple as the color for wounds on their skin. To make the wounds more visible, I used light purple (almost white) glazes on their edges. I’m glad that there were only 3 dooggies to paint 😉
Jowan with the beasts is a nice addition to my drunes warband. They’re ready to loot some villages!
Hello guys! Lately I painted some bear – Beowa from Mierce Miniatures. I love his savage look!
Painting fur was tiresome, but not so much as I thought. After painting the base color (slighty lighter than the overall shade of the final color) I applied 3 washes and 3 drybrushes (better more of them than less). That was fast and pleasant 😉 Then came the fun part – with good tipped brush I applied final 2-3 highlights on every strand of hair. I was really happy when it was over. Painting the clothes and all the details was the last touch. I hope that you like the final result.
You may think I’m borring, but I painted another drune – Hedroc of Carn Maen, who likes chains. A lot!
Painting chains in NMM technique is quite tiresome, but I like the effect when it is finally ready.
Recently I also painted 2 of Marneus Calgar’s honor guard in my chain Ultramarines painting project 🙂
