Warhammer Underworlds warbands

One day we’ve been having a chat with our Thymos.Theos about what he would like to paint, and his response was: Warhammer Underworlds warbands. And you know what, he painted quite a few, so you can enjoy them in the photos here.

Some of these were commissioned warbands, some may still be available for sale, and some were just personal projects.
But it’s a nice selection of painted Warhammer Underworlds warbands anyway. 🙂

Apparently, Thymos.Theos enjoys painting Warhammer Underworlds warbands. It is pretty clear, right? He also plays the game, which makes him a perfect choice of painter for Warhammer Underworlds miniatures.

Are your warbands painted?

If you enjoy the game and would like to play it with painted miniatures, but don’t feel like spending your time with the brush and paints, we can help you – we have a bunch of artists who can paint your Warhammer Underworlds warbands (or other miniatures, too), so you don’t have to feel embarrassed playing with unpainted models anymore. It will surely be a nice feeling to be asked “who painted your models?” by your opponents. 😀

Ghazghkull Thraka returns!

Ghazghkull Thraka, or Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka to name him properly, is one impressive miniature. The last time we showed one was in 2016, and since then a new version of the model has been released.

Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka
Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka

Ghazghkull Thraka is a legendary Ork Warlord who has terrorized the galaxy for centuries. He is known for his brutal tactics, cunning intellect, and unmatched strength on the battlefield. Ghazghkull has waged countless wars against the Imperium, other xenos races, and even his own kind in his quest for power and domination.

Ghazghkull first rose to prominence during the Third War for Armageddon, where he led a massive Ork Waaagh! against the Imperium. Despite the best efforts of the Imperial defenders, Ghazghkull was ultimately able to claim victory, cementing his reputation as one of the most fearsome warlords in the galaxy.

Since that time, Ghazghkull has continued to lead Ork Waaaghs! across the galaxy, gathering more and more followers to his cause. He is said to possess immense psychic power, which he uses to manipulate the minds of his enemies and even to control the battlefield itself.

Ghazghkull is a towering figure, standing well over ten feet tall and weighing several tons. He is heavily armored and armed with a variety of deadly weapons, including a massive power klaw that can crush even the toughest armor.

Despite his brutal reputation, Ghazghkull has a loyal following of Orks who see him as a savior figure, destined to lead the greenskins to glory and conquest. His name strikes fear into the hearts of his enemies, and his presence on the battlefield can often turn the tide of a battle in the Orks’ favor.

This version of Ghazghkull Thraka was painted by our artist Luke, and won him a bronze trophy in the Masters category of the Kontrast miniature painting competition in 2022.

We’ll be honored if this miniature encourages and inspires you to paint your own version. But if you feel like the task might be too much for you, you can always contact us about the painting service we provide.

Knight Castellan, inspired by General Grievous

The Knight Castellan is a towering war machine in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, known for its impressive firepower, unbreakable shield, and noble heritage. Each Knight is piloted by a member of a noble house, who is duty-bound to defend the Imperium of Man against all threats.

This particular Knight Castellan, converted and painted by our artist Rejven, whose inspiration was the infamous Star Wars character General Grievous. If you look closer, you will recognize the armor color, the design of its head, and the collected lightsabers that were a trademark of this character. Even the weapons in its arms are in the iconic lightsaber colors!

General Grievous

General Grievous, for those unfamiliar with the Star Wars universe, is a cyborg commander who served as a leader for the Separatist army during the Clone Wars. He was originally a Kaleesh warrior named Qymaen jai Sheelal, who was transformed into a cyborg after a near-fatal crash. He had his body enhanced with advanced droid technology, including four robotic arms. This allowed him to wield multiple lightsabers in combat.

Grievous was a ruthless and merciless opponent, responsible for the deaths of countless Jedi knights and Padawans. He was known for his fearsome appearance and deadly fighting abilities, and was often depicted as a formidable opponent even for the most skilled Jedi.

The Knight Castellan is similarly known for its impressive combat abilities. It carries a variety of devastating weapons and is also particularly durable, able to absorb even the most devastating attacks.

Knight Castellan vs General Grievous

Despite their differences in origin and universe, Knight Castellan and General Grievous share a number of similarities. Both are basically war machines with fearsome reputations on the battlefield. And both can be sure to strike fear into the hearts of their enemies.

If you enjoy this connection of Warhammer 40K and Star Wars, it may actually inspire you to create your own. Or have something interesting created for you by our team of artists! Just send us a message so we can discuss it with you. 🙂

Charity Raffle – Sometimes miniatures are more than just a fun hobby

Most of the time miniatures are just a fun pastime. Most people paint them, collect them, game with them. But sometimes they can serve a charitable purpose and help people in need.

Recently we have participated in the Nova Charity event, but now we have something much more personal. Something in support of people we know: our team-mate Kacpero and his son Leon.

Charity raffle with some contributions from us.

Let’s allow Kacpero to tell us about the whole event:

Kacpero explains the raffle:
